In a world that wants us to focus on either the future or the past, the Angels want us to know that today is all that matters. Be present, be now.
Is it time yet?
Time to make that change you’ve been pondering
Time to get the support you need
Time to be who you know you are beneath the layers,
The one under the mask you take off at night
Or does that mask never come off?
Does it stay carefully in place,
Even during your down times,
Lulling you into believing if it never comes off
Then what’s beneath it can’t be real?
What if you just took a peek?
By the light of the moon, with no one around
What if you lifted the edge just slightly
Revealed to yourself the beauty behind it?
What if you dropped that everyday persona
Became real – raw, tender, open
Capable of loving as hard and long and wholly
As you’ve ever felt the pain from which you’ve hidden?
And what if in your realness, your true self
You find what you’ve been seeking all along,
Your light, your beauty, your heart
The parts of you lost to life
Still waiting for you to reclaim them
Waiting for you to take off the masks for good
And wear them like a crown,
Step out into the world as the queen you are
Is it time yet?
The Angels ask us not to let the negativity in the world get to us. Instead we can dig deep into what we’re feeling and become really clear on the source, as well as the reality. Then we can cut the cords of all that which binds us. We are free, we are whole, we are peace.
The light in the darkness
The one I seek to drag me up
Soothe my soul
Embittered by the wounds of youth
The power for which I yearn
The strength to overcome and start anew
To right the wrongs of a past
Lustful for drama and pain
The lens through which
You see my soul
Today bitter, tomorrow emboldened
A flash of greatness a thousand lifetimes in the making
The Angels want us to know that the greatest love is the love of self. Doing so much that we’re worn out isn’t love, even if we’re doing it for others. It’s exhausting at best, and debilitating at worst. Slow down, breathe, allow the quiet moments to rejuvenate and bring peace.
The Angels want us to take time to rest. Rest is important for our overall sense of wellbeing and connection. Tired and cloudy minds and bodies can’t function at their highest capacity. Whatever is so important can wait. Allow rest, and the rest will fall into place.
In this life, the walls created
Promise to provide shelter,
Protection from the greatest storms,
The wildest, rockiest intrusions man can concoct
And they do—
Shuttered up tightly, my walls guarded me
Each day and night so that nothing unwanted
Or unpleasant was granted willing entrance
This didn’t stop the storms from rattling at the doors
And breaking out the glass,
Ripping from the roof and foundation fragments of debris,
And still, I all but disappeared behind my fortress
And the voices, pleasant and gentle, whispered,
“Let me in”
Promising joy and thrills not found in safe places
