The Angels remind us when we remove our lens of narrow perspective, we see more clearly the person in front of us – her true nature as a being of perfection, honor, and love. Her actions may tell another story, yet if we can open our hearts past that, we know that we are one.
Of the setting sun
Isn’t lost on heavy hearts,
The winds of change howling in our ears
Instead, the pressure lifts us up,
Rising to the peak of our existence
Where we see blue above the clouds,
Sun on the horizon
From another side of the world
This perspective gives us wings
To raise our fearful energy to grace,
Envelope our hearts in compassion
For a darkened world turned light
And lift our healing hearts into the sky,
Rising, rising to meet the sun
The light, merging and emerging,
Into night, into day
Become the way,
For a people led astray
The presence of both light and dark not only gives us perspective, but also fulfillment. When we attempt to insulate ourselves from the dark, it still finds us. And we struggle even more with its presence. When accept and walk through, the journey is a bit easier and we are stronger for the next opportunity.
Most things in life do not simply happen to us. Though we may not realize it, we have it within us to influence the path. We can’t change the past, or other people, but we can choose to change our perspective.
Sometimes you’re just too close to a situation. Consciously step back, allow some distance, gain some perspective and objectivity, then re-engage. Or don’t. Maybe that’s your answer.
A change of scenery can put you in a new frame of mind, help you see things differently or perhaps even more clearly. How can you tweak your present circumstances today in order to gain a new perspective?
